Your Hosts: The Peterson Family
We welcome you to discover exciting trophy lake trout action and/or experience a Central Canadian Barrenground Caribou hunt. Proudly owned by the Peterson family (Jim, Margaret, Amanda & Chad Peterson) for over 25 years our hospitality and service are two of the reasons why so many guests return year after year. We set a standard few others can meet. We emphasize quality not quantity, only accommodating 10 guests per stay. >From the time of booking until you arrive back home from your adventure with us we take care of you every step of the way. There is a saying at Peterson's, that "people come as guests and leave as friends." We look forward to meeting you this year.
Guides
Quality leadership is an integral part of any great trip and is what helps distinguish Peterson's Point Lake Lodge from the rest. Jim Peterson has a hands-on approach to managing the family business. During our fishing season most of his time is spent on the water guiding. When Jim is not on the water, he is performing routine maintenance on lodge equipment, training new staff and he even preparing specialty dishes in the kitchen. His wife, Margaret and daughter, Amanda, work on logistics; you will either be greeted at the Yellowknife airport or see them at the charter float base. You will find Chad, Jim & Margaret's son at his best on the water or hiking the land providing you the best service imaginable.
The entire staff is integral to our operation. They are enthusiastic, good-natured, dedicated and have diverse backgrounds as members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, biologists, cooks, teachers/educators, fitness instructors, herbalists and explorers. They provide invaluable insights to each trip. Perhaps most important is Peterson's Point Lake Lodge guides' consideration for your safety. We are pleased to mention that our staff is the first in the Northwest Territories to receive their National Guide Certification.
